North America upgrades LED lights someone's happy.
- Oct 16, 2017 -

Throughout North America, cities have switched streetlights from formerly high-pressure sodium lamps to new LED lights. The reason behind it is cost. The power of the LED is about half the power of the high-pressure sodium, and the service life is twice times that of the latter, which lowers the cost of the city. Throughout North America, cities have switched streetlights from formerly high-pressure sodium lamps to new LEDs. The reason behind it is cost. The power of the LED is about half the power of the high-pressure sodium, and the service life is twice times that of the latter, which lowers the cost of the city.

But not everyone is satisfied. Many residents say the lights are too bright. High-pressure sodium lamps emit orange or light yellow light, while LEDs work at different light frequencies, emitting dazzling white light.

Light "Temperature" in Kelvin units, high pressure sodium lamp temperature of about 2000K to 2, 500K. The new LEDs work in the higher blue spectrum and emit more than 3000K of light, which is seen as a very bright, very dazzling light.

Many residents complained that the lights were so bright that it turned the street into a parking lot. Others say it will affect their sleep, and others point out that LEDs can cause light pollution and have a negative impact on nature.

The American Medical Association says Blu-ray spectra affect the production of melatonin and are 5 times times more likely to affect the circadian rhythms than traditional streetlights can cause retinal damage.

However, several cities have installed 3000K to 4000K levels of LEDs, and say that despite the complaints, the benefits outweigh these problems, and it is expensive to change the LEDs that are already installed.

So how do you deal with the problems of this upgrade?

The solution is to buy lower-than-3000K LEDs, or learn from the Canadian base Cinna approach, when turning the streetlights into LEDs, install the wireless technology with the lights so that the lights are dimmed $number.
