Luminous efficiency of high-power LED

Luminous efficiency is a measure of the efficiency of a light source in converting electrical energy into light energy, typically expressed in lumens per watt (Lm/W). The luminous efficiency of high-power LEDs is much higher than traditional light sources such as incandescent and fluorescent lamps. According to the current level of technology, the luminous efficiency of high-power LEDs can reach over 100 Lm/W, while the luminous efficiency of traditional incandescent lamps is only about 15 Lm/W, and the luminous efficiency of fluorescent lamps is around 70 Lm/W. This means that under the same brightness, high-power LEDs consume much less electricity than traditional light sources, achieving significant energy-saving effects.

Electro optic conversion efficiency refers to the percentage of input electrical energy converted into light energy by a light source. For high-power LEDs, their electro-optical conversion efficiency can usually reach 20% to 30%, and the electro-optical conversion efficiency of some high-end products is even higher. In contrast, the electro-optical conversion efficiency of incandescent lamps is only about 10%, and most of the electrical energy is converted into heat energy and wasted. Although the electro-optical conversion efficiency of fluorescent lamps is better than that of incandescent lamps, it is still lower than that of high-power LEDs. Therefore, from the perspective of electro-optical conversion efficiency, high-power LEDs have higher energy efficiency advantages.

Energy efficiency performance in practical applications

In practical applications, the energy efficiency performance of high-power LEDs is influenced by various factors, including light source design, heat dissipation performance, driving circuits, etc. However, thanks to its excellent luminous efficiency and electro-optical conversion efficiency, high-power LEDs perform well in various lighting applications.

In the field of outdoor lighting, high-power LED street lights have gradually replaced traditional high-pressure sodium lamps and metal halide lamps due to their high brightness, long lifespan, and energy-saving characteristics. LED street lights have better lighting effects, lower energy consumption, and reduce light pollution and carbon emissions. According to relevant data, LED street lights can save up to 50% more energy compared to traditional street lights.

In the fields of home and commercial lighting, high-power LED lamps have become the preferred choice for consumers and businesses due to their high energy efficiency, environmental friendliness, and intelligent control functions. LED lighting fixtures not only have adjustable brightness and rich colors, but can also be remotely controlled, timed on/off, and automatically adjusted through intelligent control systems, further improving energy efficiency and convenience.

In the fields of industrial automation and automotive lighting, high-power LEDs have also shown a wide range of application prospects. LED industrial lighting fixtures provide stable and reliable lighting solutions for industrial production due to their high brightness, long lifespan, and seismic performance. LED car lighting fixtures, with their high brightness, fast response, and energy-saving features, enhance the safety and aesthetics of cars.
