If a ceiling light has no screws and can be removed using clips or by rotating it, the key is to switch off the power first and then proceed according to the specific mounting method. The specific steps are as follows:
I. Preliminary Safety Preparations
1) Switch off the power at the room's light switch or the corresponding circuit breaker in the fuse box. Use a voltage tester to confirm there is no current before proceeding.
2) Prepare a suction cup (to hold the lampshade), a thin card (to help pry open the clips) and a stepladder.
II. Two Common Methods for Removing Screwless Ceiling Lights
1) Clip-Fastened Type

  • Check the edges of the lampshade for any gaps; insert a thin card into the gap and gently pry it open.
  • Locate the hidden spring clips; press down on the clips whilst pulling the lampshade downwards.
  • With some models, you will need to pry two or three clips simultaneously to remove the shade.

2) Rotating-clip type

  • Hold the edge of the shade with both hands and slowly rotate it anti-clockwise (some are clockwise; try turning it gently first).
  • Once you hear a 'click', tilt the shade downwards and remove it.
  • If rotation is difficult, place a soft cloth under the edge to increase friction.

III. Key Points to Note During Dismantling
1. Once the lampshade has been removed, set it down gently to prevent glass lampshades from breaking.
2. If there are still no screws on the internal lamp body, check for any hidden clips (some are located on the side of the lamp body).
3. If you encounter a complex structure or are unsure, it is best to contact a qualified electrician first to avoid damaging the circuit.
IV. Reassembly (Reverse the above steps)
1. First, connect the wires (ensuring the correct colour matching: live to live, neutral to neutral).
2. Rotate the lampshade back into its original position or press the clips to secure it.
3. Before switching on the power to test, ensure that all components are securely fitted.
