1. Determining the Position

Before installing a ceiling light in a bedroom, it is essential to determine its exact position and then install it accordingly. Generally, the ceiling light is positioned directly in the centre of the room, as this ensures the light is distributed more evenly. For safety reasons, it is vital to select a ceiling surface with sufficient load-bearing capacity for installation to prevent the light from becoming unstable; which could pose a risk of the light falling after prolonged use. It is essential to select a central position on a brick or stone structure capable of supporting the weight of the ceiling light.

2. Removing the Diffuser and Light Bulb

When installing a bedroom ceiling light, the diffuser must be removed first to facilitate rotation and snapping into place during installation. The light bulb should also be removed to avoid breaking it whilst installing the light; it is safer to remove it beforehand. *Refit the light bulb only after the diffuser has been securely installed.

3. Fitting the base

The bedroom ceiling light must be installed in the designated position. Based on the drill holes, secure the base using expansion bolts. Ensure that the drill hole diameter and embedding depth match the bolt specifications, then fasten it in place.

4. Connecting the wires

Once the base is securely fixed, connect the power cable to the ceiling light's terminal block. Please note that the two wire ends connected to the ceiling light's power cable must make good electrical contact. They should be individually wrapped with black electrical tape and kept at a safe distance from one another. Where possible, avoid placing both wire ends under the same metal plate to prevent short circuits and potential hazards.

5. Fitting the Diffuser

Once all the above steps have been completed, you can fit the ceiling light diffuser. Then switch on the power to check that the ceiling light is illuminated. If everything is working correctly, the installation is complete.

Installation Position for Bedroom Ceiling Lights

Bedroom ceiling lights are generally positioned directly in the centre to ensure the light is distributed evenly throughout the room. For safety reasons, the installer will typically position the light slightly off-centre from the bed to prevent any safety risks arising from an unstable installation. It is recommended that, when installing a bedroom ceiling light, you select a section of the brickwork or masonry structure that is structurally sound to avoid the risk of the light falling during prolonged use.
