1, Basic concepts of IP65 and IP66:
IP65 rating:
IP65 is the abbreviation for Ingress Protection, where the number "6" indicates the highest level of protection against solid objects (dust), and the number "5" indicates the level of protection against liquids. Therefore, IP65 LED lamps have good protective performance when facing dust and water splashes.
IP66 rating:
Similar to IP65, IP66 is also a shorthand for Ingress Protection, but it still has the highest level of dust protection at level 6, while its level of waterproofing has been raised to level 6. This means that IP66 LED lighting fixtures have stronger waterproof capabilities and can withstand strong water jet sprays.
2, Appearance design and protective structure:
IP65 LED light:
IP65 LED lights usually adopt a well sealed housing design, which can effectively prevent the entry of dust particles and have certain waterproof performance, suitable for outdoor environments. However, due to its relatively low waterproof level, it may not be sufficient to cope with environments with strong water pressure and sustained large-scale water splashes.
IP66 LED lights:
Compared to others, IP66 LED lights have superior waterproof performance, with a more compact outer shell structure that can resist strong water jets. This makes IP66 LED lights more suitable for places that need to face extreme weather conditions and frequent water washing, such as beaches, industrial areas, etc.
3, Comparison of applicable fields:
Application scenarios of IP65:
Outdoor landscape lighting: such as gardens, courtyards, etc;
Building exterior wall lighting: providing building contours and decorative effects;
Lighting in public places: parks, parking lots, etc.
Application scenarios of IP66:
Industrial areas: places facing high humidity and large-scale water splashes;
Marine environment: ship lighting, offshore platforms, etc;
Food processing plants: occasions that require frequent cleaning and waterproofing.
