1, Basic concepts of LED
LED, The full name is Light Emitting Diode, which is a semiconductor device capable of converting electrical energy into light energy. Its core structure includes a PN junction, which is the junction between P-type semiconductor and N-type semiconductor. When current passes through the PN junction, electrons move from the N region to the P region and recombine with holes in the P region, releasing energy. This part of the energy is radiated out in the form of photons, thus achieving the conversion of electrical energy to light energy.
The emission color of LED mainly depends on the material that constitutes the PN junction. Different semiconductor materials have different bandgap widths (also known as energy gaps), and when electrons and holes recombine, the energy released (i.e. the energy of photons) is also different, resulting in different colors of light. For example, red LEDs commonly use aluminum indium gallium phosphorus (AlInGaP) compound semiconductors, while blue LEDs commonly use gallium nitride (GaN) based semiconductors.
2, Construction of LED Linear Light
LED linear light, as the name suggests, is a light strip formed by encapsulating multiple LED beads in a narrow shell. This design not only makes the lighting more uniform and soft, but also facilitates installation and maintenance. The shell of LED linear lights is usually made of lightweight materials such as aluminum or plastic, which have good heat dissipation performance and weather resistance. At the same time, in order to protect the LED beads from external environmental erosion, the interior of the housing is also filled with transparent or semi transparent encapsulation materials such as silicone or epoxy resin.
3, The working principle of LED linear light
The working principle of LED linear lights is based on the light emission principle of LEDs, but it also has its own characteristics. Specifically, the working process of LED linear lights can be divided into the following steps:
Power input and conversion: LED linear lights require a stable DC power supply. In practical applications, AC power is usually converted to DC power through a power adapter and regulated to the required operating voltage and current for LED linear lights. This step ensures that the LED linear light can emit light stably and efficiently.
Current distribution and driving: Due to the presence of multiple LED beads inside the linear LED lamp, it is necessary to allocate and drive the current reasonably. Usually, a constant current driving circuit is used to ensure that each LED bead can obtain a stable current supply, thereby achieving uniform luminous effect. In addition, in order to extend the service life of LED linear lights, protection functions such as overcurrent, overvoltage, and short circuit will be added to the driving circuit.
Light energy conversion and radiation: When current passes through LED beads, electrons and holes recombine at the PN junction, releasing energy. This energy radiates out in the form of photons, forming the light we see. The performance parameters of LED linear lights, such as light color, brightness, and light efficiency, mainly depend on factors such as the material, structure, and packaging process of LED beads.
Heat dissipation and protection: LED linear lights generate a certain amount of heat during operation. In order to maintain the stability and prolong the service life of LED chips, effective heat dissipation measures need to be taken. Common heat dissipation methods include natural heat dissipation, fan heat dissipation, and heat pipe heat dissipation. At the same time, in order to prevent LED linear lights from being damaged by external environments such as moisture, dust, vibration, etc., corresponding protective measures need to be added in the design and manufacturing process.
4, Application and advantages of LED linear lights
LED linear lights have been widely used in multiple fields due to their unique working principle and performance advantages. For example, in the field of indoor and outdoor lighting, LED linear lights can be used for street lighting, landscape lighting, architectural lighting, etc; In the field of commercial display, LED linear lights can be used for shelf lighting, window lighting, billboard lighting, etc; In the field of home decoration, LED linear lights can be used for ceiling lighting, background wall lighting, cabinet lighting, etc.
Compared to traditional lighting equipment, LED linear lights have the following significant advantages:
Efficient and energy-saving: LED linear lamps have high luminous efficiency and low energy consumption, which can save a lot of electricity compared to traditional lighting equipment.
Environmentally friendly and pollution-free: LED linear lights do not contain harmful substances such as mercury, making them environmentally friendly.
Long lifespan: The service life of LED linear lights can reach tens of thousands to over 100000 hours, far exceeding traditional lighting equipment.
Easy to control: LED linear lights can achieve continuous brightness adjustment through dimming circuits, and can also be remotely and automatically controlled through intelligent control systems.
Colorful: By changing the material and structure of LED beads, different colors of LED linear lights can be produced to meet diverse lighting needs.
