What Questions Should You Ask the Manufacturer When Buying LED Street Lights for a Logistics Park?

As an LED street light manufacturer with more than twelve years of export experience, I have supplied lighting to logistics parks, ports and industrial zones in the Middle East, Southeast Asia, Africa and South America. Over the years, I have noticed that smart buyers do not only ask "How much?" They ask the right questions before they place the order. A few good questions can save you from failed lights, wrong data and expensive repairs. Here are the ones I recommend.

Are You a Real Factory or a Trading Company?

Ask for factory photos, production lines, a business license and, if possible, a video call or an on-site audit. A real LED lighting OEM manufacturer can explain its production process, control its quality and respond fast when a problem appears. Also ask whether the factory can customize wattage, beam angle, color temperature, housing and branding for your project or your own market.

Which Chips, Drivers and Materials Do You Use?

The chip, driver and housing decide most of the product life. Ask for the brand and model of the LED chip and driver in writing, and check that the model on the datasheet matches the one in the real product. Ask about the housing material (die-cast aluminum is the usual choice), heat dissipation design and surface coating. Good LED street lights for logistics parks should also list IP66, IK08 and surge protection of 6kV to 10kV, with test reports to prove it.

Can You Provide Real Test Reports and IES Files?

This is the question that separates serious suppliers from the rest. Ask for LM-80 and TM-21 data from the chip maker, an LM-79 report for the whole fixture, CE, RoHS and other certificates, and real IES files for your DIALux design. Compare the lumen output on the report with the datasheet. A DIALux simulation is only honest if the photometric data is real. Always check that the certificate belongs to the same model you are buying.

What Is Your Quality Control and Warranty Policy?

Ask how many tests each fixture passes before shipment, such as aging test, waterproof test and electrical safety test. Then read the warranty terms carefully: how many years, what is covered, who pays for shipping and replacement, and how fast the supplier responds. Replacing one fixture on a 10-meter pole means hiring a lift, closing a lane and losing working hours, so I suggest choosing an LED lighting supplier with 5 year warranty and a clear after-sales process in writing.

What About Samples, Lead Time and Project Support?

Ask for samples before the bulk order, and test them on site if you can. Confirm the production lead time, packing method, shipping terms and spare parts policy. Ask whether the supplier can provide a lighting layout, a smart dimming option and technical support during installation. Quality LEDs already save about 50% to 70% electricity compared with old metal halide lamps, so a reliable supplier should also help you calculate the payback of your project. Our quality standard includes:

  • Branded LED chips and drivers, 100% aging test before packing
  • Die-cast aluminum housing, IP66 / IK08, 6kV to 10kV surge protection, CE and RoHS certified, with real IES files and test reports for DIALux design

When a customer asks me for a 5-year warranty, I can say yes with confidence, because we test before shipment, not after complaints.

Conclusion

Before you buy, ask about the factory, the components, the test reports, the warranty and the project support. A supplier who answers clearly and shows documents is usually a supplier you can trust. Our LED street lights are built with strict quality control, so they stay bright, stable and reliable for years.
