LED street lights are being adopted by more and more cities due to their lower energy costs and longer service life. Aberdeen in the UK and Kelowna in Canada recently announced projects to replace LED street lights and install smart lighting systems. In addition, the Malaysian government has also stated that it will convert all street lights in the country to LED from September 2019.
It is reported that the Aberdeen City Council in the UK is implementing a seven-year plan costing £9 million (about 78.39 million yuan) to replace traditional street lights with LED lighting.
