The Shenzhen Bay Financial Center has named Leyard Smart Technology Group as the leading candidate for its facade lighting package, at a bid price of 19.39 million yuan. Shenzhen Jin Zhaoming Technology came second at 20.56 million and Shenzhen Yonghengguang Smart Technology third at 20.80 million. The tower rises in Nanshan district at the junction of Shenwan Third Road and Baishi Fourth Road, occupying a site of roughly 10,377 square metres with a total floor area of about 369,738 square metres across 82 storeys above ground and eight below, topping out at 393.9 metres.

The scope runs well beyond supplying fixtures. The successful contractor takes responsibility for detailed design development, supply, testing, commissioning, installation, acceptance, handover, training and warranty, together with the full control system - control equipment and cabinets, management software, control cabling, conduits, trunking, earthing and ancillary materials - plus the power system of distribution boards, cabling and LED driver power. Bidders were required to hold a Class A urban and road lighting engineering contractor qualification, and the programme allows 870 calendar days.

It is worth noting that the winning bid was also the lowest of the three. On packages like this, price is only one component of a scored evaluation in which the technical proposal, the design development approach and the contractor's track record on comparable towers carry substantial weight. A lower number winning outright usually indicates the evaluation rewarded a stronger technical submission rather than simply the cheapest compliant offer.
