Global lighting leader Signify has announced a strategic partnership with NXTPLAY Capital, a sports, media, and technology investment platform, becoming its official lighting and innovation partner to co-create the next generation of sports and entertainment experiences. NXTPLAY's portfolio spans football and motorsport, including Belgian Pro League side KRC Genk, France's Ligue 1 club Le Mans FC, and Spain's CD Extremadura, and the platform was co-founded by Real Madrid and Belgium goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois.

From Venue Lighting to Full-Scene Experience

Under the agreement, the two will collaborate on several levels. Venue experience upgrade: deploy innovative lighting across NXTPLAY's sports and entertainment assets, turning venues into immersive destinations through smart connected LED systems that help clubs cut energy, lower operating costs, and accelerate sustainability goals. Connected fan experience: via Signify's Philips Hue, sync home lights to live matches - every goal, every key moment, fans' lights pulse with the stadium. Athlete performance support: smart lighting ecosystems adjust intensity and color temperature through the day to optimize focus, training, recovery, and rest. Commercial innovation: co-develop exclusive and limited-edition products inspired by clubs, athletes, and iconic moments.

Three Voices on the Future

NXTPLAY CEO Gonzalo Vila said the partnership is "far more than lighting a stadium" - it is building an innovation platform that creates value across the ecosystem. Courtois added that as a player he feels how environment affects performance, and that partnering with a leader like Signify realizes his vision of helping athletes perform better and bringing fans closer to the game. Signify's Dragoslav Jozic noted that sport is evolving into a fully connected entertainment experience, and light is "one of the most underrated forces" now becoming the next frontier for marginal gains.

Deep Roots in Sports Lighting

Signify brings decades of sports-lighting expertise and helped set international standards. In July 2025 it became the world's second company certified as a FIFA floodlighting preferred supplier; its Philips ArenaVision Gen3.5 is FIBA-certified; and it partners with the Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 team and the Royal Belgian Football Association. The NXTPLAY deal moves Signify from single-infrastructure provider to full-ecosystem enabler.

Light as Experience, Not Just Illumination

The deeper signal in this partnership is the repositioning of lighting from a cost line to an experience and revenue asset. When a club can sync every fan's home lights to a goal, or tune training-room spectra to an athlete's circadian rhythm, light stops being infrastructure and becomes engagement, performance, and brand. That logic is spreading beyond sport into retail, hospitality, and workplace design, where connected lighting now drives dwell time, mood, and productivity. For the supply chain, the implication is that luminaire buyers increasingly evaluate not lumens per dollar but experience per installation - and that rewards manufacturers who can deliver networked, controllable, certified fixtures rather than static ones. Signify is betting the future of lighting is software-defined; the rest of the industry is now racing to catch up.

Modular LED flood light by Luxsky Lighting

Luxsky Product Perspective

Signify's playbook - connected, broadcast-syncable, athlete-aware lighting - shows where premium LED flood light systems are heading. The same connected-control and high-output engineering that lights a Champions-League-grade pitch also powers industrial and commercial sites: a LED highbay light for warehouse lighting with networked drivers delivers the same reliability and energy control at facility scale. As an LED lighting manufacturer, Luxsky Lighting builds modular flood and highbay luminaires with the dimming-ready drivers and sealed optics that professional venues and warehouses both demand. For distributors importing from a LED lighting manufacturer that understands connected control, the Signify–NXTPLAY model is the signal: lighting is no longer just illumination - it is experience, performance, and brand, delivered one precisely-controlled LED highbay light for warehouse lighting and floodlight at a time.
