When installing LED ceiling lights, it is crucial to correctly distinguish and connect the neutral wire and live wire. Although some LED lamps have internal drive power supplies with bridge rectifier circuits, which theoretically allow a certain degree of polarity error, this does not mean that the neutral and live wires can be reversed at will. In a standard household circuit, the neutral wire (usually a blue or black insulation layer) carries the loop current and the voltage is close to zero; while the live wire (brown or red insulation layer) carries 220V AC voltage and is responsible for supplying power to the load.
If the neutral and live wires are unfortunately reversed, even if the lamp switch is turned off, the hidden danger is already lurking: at this time, the current should be cut off by the switch. The live wire, but due to the wrong wiring, the switch actually cuts off the neutral wire loop. This causes the metal parts inside the lamp holder and the lamp body itself to still carry dangerous voltages through the reversed live wire when the light is off! Like a hidden electric shock trap, once the user accidentally touches the lamp body or replaces the bulb, it is very easy to cause a serious electric shock accident.

In addition, reverse wiring may also interfere with the stable operation of the electronic components inside the lamp. Some voltage-sensitive LED drivers or dimming modules may experience abnormal flickering, increased noise, or even shortened life due to phase errors. Although the lamps may still light up, their reliability and safety are greatly reduced if they work in an abnormal electrical environment for a long time.
Therefore, when wiring, be sure to follow the principle of "power-off operation, careful color identification, and switch control fire": cut off the main switch of the distribution box before operation to ensure safety, connect according to the wire color specification (blue for zero, brown for fire), and repeatedly verify whether the switch has indeed cut off the live wire path - this is an insurmountable iron rule to protect the safety of household electricity use.
