Ceiling lights remain one of the most popular lighting choices in both homes and commercial spaces. Choosing the right size makes a clear difference in how a room looks and feels. As someone who has worked in lighting export for over a decade, I often hear the question: what are the common sizes of ceiling lights?
There is no single fixed answer, but practical guidelines and real product specifications offer clear reference points.
Ceiling lights mount directly onto the ceiling and usually use LED sources. Lighting styles include downward projection, diffused light, or full-room coverage. First consider the room type: living rooms suit diffused or full coverage, dining areas work better with downward light, and bedrooms need softer illumination.
Room area is the key factor:
- Around 15 m² → diameter of about 40 cm
- 20–35 m² → diameter of 60–70 cm
- Larger spaces → consider two lights
Our die-cast aluminum bulkhead lights come in these common sizes: round 145 mm, 220 mm, 275 mm, 300 mm, 350 mm and 420 mm; oval 220 mm and 280 mm; square 270 mm. Plastic models are mainly available in 270 mm and 320 mm round. The 275 mm die-cast aluminum bulkhead light is our bestseller-easy to install, even light distribution and good value.

In export projects, we also supply LED bulkhead light and high-quality bulkhead light models that share similar size ranges. IP65 LED bulkhead light versions, with their waterproof and dustproof rating, are ideal for corridors, garages, outdoor areas or damp locations rather than standard indoor bedrooms.
Always measure the room area and ceiling height first, then match the product specs. We offer size customization for overseas clients. If you need a ceiling light or LED bulkhead light, contact us for detailed size charts and quotes. The right size makes any space brighter and more inviting.
