As a ceiling light manufacturer, we find that many installation problems can be avoided with a few simple tips. These practical points make the job smoother and the final result more comfortable to use.

1. Plan the switches

Install separate switches where possible so lights can be controlled individually. This is more convenient and saves energy. Add a switch at the end of the entrance corridor so you can turn the lights off without walking back to the door.

2. Make lighting adjustable

A dimmable system is preferable. When the light feels too dim or too harsh, you can adjust it for greater comfort.

3. Match colour temperature to the room

The colour temperature should suit the atmosphere of the space and at least be similar to adjacent areas for a coordinated look.

4. Avoid a single central light

Do not rely on one light in the middle of the room. In kitchens and other functional areas, a layered lighting scheme with different fixtures works better.

5. Choose the right position

Place linear lights toward the front of cabinets so that light hits the back panel first and then reflects onto the work surface, giving more even illumination.

6. Check firmness

After installation, gently pull the light to confirm it is secure. The base cover must sit tightly against the ceiling with no movement.

7. Handle the cable correctly

On pendant lights, the cable should not be stretched tight; it should run loosely along the rod. No bare copper should be left exposed.

8. Remove protective film easily

Many lights have a protective film that is hard to peel. Warm it gently with a hair dryer first, and it will come off much more easily.

Our round bulkhead light has a clean shape, so accurate centring and levelling are especially important during installation. An outdoor bulkhead light used in semi-outdoor areas needs extra attention to sealing and fixing.

A standard bulkhead light has a relatively simple structure, so following the tips above usually makes installation faster and more reliable.

Use these practical points, and both the installation quality and later use will be more satisfactory. If you meet any specific issue while installing our ceiling lights, send us the details, and we can give targeted advice.
