Larger fixtures can support higher power because they dissipate heat better. However, higher wattage is not always better. Too much power increases heat, speeds up light decay and may affect safety. Modern LED ceiling lights prioritise efficacy, so lower wattage can still deliver excellent brightness.

- Small rooms (bedrooms, corridors): 15–36 W
- Medium living rooms: 36–60 W
- Large or commercial spaces: 60 W and above, with proper heat management
