Maintenance Budgets Are Now Product Decisions
Guangzhou's lighting construction management centre published the winning candidate for the 2026 landscape lighting facility maintenance and improvement works, package one. China Construction Eighth Bureau South China Construction took the award at 7.7134 million yuan, ahead of bids from the Guangzhou municipal engineering maintenance department, Guangdong Yusheng, Guangzhou Rehuo Lighting Design, and Nanjing CEC Panda Lighting. The spread between the bids tells its own story about how maintenance work is now priced.
Maintenance packages used to mean labour: replace failed lamps, repair circuits, repaint poles. They now increasingly mean product decisions, because a large share of China's first-generation LED landscape installations has reached the point where repair costs more than renewal. Authorities are discovering that keeping a failing fixture alive is rarely the economical choice.
Specifying a Second Generation Against a First
The sensible starting point is to benchmark against what the market already recognises. Many consultants still write specifications around Philips led flood lights performance language, because that vocabulary is familiar to evaluation panels and sets clear expectations on photometry, driver life, and warranty.
The replacement itself has to solve three practical problems. It must match or exceed the original light level so the scene still reads as designed. It must survive the same environment, which usually means a genuine LED Waterproof Flood light with verified sealing, pressure equalisation, and a marine-grade finish rather than a decorative housing. And it should reuse the existing mounting positions wherever possible, because new fixings into aged concrete is where budgets disappear.
Colour consistency deserves particular attention in landscape work, because a replacement batch that sits two MacAdam steps away from its neighbours is immediately visible across a facade.
Luxsky Product Perspective
We support maintenance rounds rather than only new builds. Our LED Waterproof Flood light families span multiple wattages on common optics and drivers, so a renewal can match the original light level and colour while consolidating spares onto one platform.
Spares are the other recurring cost in a maintenance contract. Holding one driver type and one optical family across the replaced sections reduces what the authority has to store, and it means a crew arriving on site can usually complete a repair without a second visit to identify the variant.

Send us the installed quantities, mounting details, and the original photometric intent if it survives. We will return a replacement schedule that keeps the scene intact, with test reports for each variant so the maintenance submission passes evaluation without a redesign round.
