The white paper on parking-garage low-carbon lighting is a telling choice of subject. Underground car parks are chronically over-lit because they run on fixed schedules regardless of occupancy, yet they are also among the easiest spaces to cut energy with the right sensors and controls. The casebook points to exactly the kind of quantified, replicable savings - dimming empty zones, responding to occupancy, and scheduling by time of day - that a building owner can underwrite and a facilities team can verify.
For the supply chain, the practical consequence is that "smart" is no longer a premium niche. When a federation publishes standards and casebooks for dynamic light and garage lighting, the expectation filters down to ordinary tenders and specifications. Importers and distributors should anticipate buyers asking for dimming, DALI or wireless compatibility, and energy-performance documentation as default features rather than optional add-ons.
